Intentions set the foundation for our being, as our daily choices influence all aspects of our lives.
Waking up requires intentions instilled in us from childhood—making the bed, taking a shower, and brushing our teeth, for example, are all acts and behaviors we practice to start the day by taking care of ourselves. We intend to practice good hygiene and cleanliness based on what we learned from our immediate home environment, but intentions motivate us.
Our environment significantly influences how we want to satisfy our life’s purpose as long as we feel motivated to reach a specific goal. Actions without intentions will likely lead to undesirable outcomes or become a nuisance, influencing our outlook on life. Life is a matter of individuals perspective.
Humans operate based on bio-individuality, a concept unique to each person. No two people are alike, not even twins. The uniqueness of bio-individuality makes us different, with similarities that bring us together. These similarities beckon us to create relationships based on mutual interests and intentions, such as seeking romantic relationships usually intended to create a family, have children, and, for most, love.
However, even when we choose to unite with another person, we must remain mindful that, as individuals, our biology influences our desires and provides each of us with the motivation to intentionally follow through on a set plan to achieve a goal, whatever it may be. It is even as simple as brushing our teeth, so they shine when we smile. In this case, the desire for a shiny smile sets the intention and motivates us to brush our teeth every morning.
Living with intentions allows us to live with purpose. In doing so, we embrace a holistic approach that helps reduce stress and fosters a healthy lifestyle. Let’s start cultivating intentions that lead to positive outcomes and a better quality of life.
